Windows 10 DNS Guide


Navigate to you control panel

- Open Network and Internet

- Open Network and Sharing Center

- Go to Change Adapter Settings.

- Select the network you’re currently connected to and right click on it. Select Properties.

- Select IPv4 and click Properties.

- If “Obtain DNS server address automatically” is selected, click the circle next to “Use the following DNS server addresses:”

- Now enter the following DNS addresses

Preferred DNS Server: 8.8.8.8

Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4

- Click Ok and Close.

- After changing your DNS settings Restart your PC.

 


Windows 11 DNS Guide

- Right click here:

- Click on Network & Internet Settings.

- Click here:

 

- Select your connection here and drop down the box like this:

 

- Then click the "View additional properties.

- Then click edit here:

 

- Now edit these settings to match this:

 

IPV4
Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8
Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4

 

IPV6
Preferred DNS: 2001:4860:4860::8888
Alternate DNS: 2001:4860:4860::8844

 

- After changing your DNS settings Restart your PC.
